Dalkeith Photo 2024

I am exhibiting and running a cyanotype workshop at Dalkeith Palace as part of Dalkeith Photo 2024, curated by Zelda Cheatle. This exhibition explores Neo-Pictorialism in the 21st century.

Squaring the Circles of Confusion highlights photography’s emotional impact while addressing key 21st-century issues such as Alzheimer’s, cultural identity, depression, religion, the female body, human-altered landscapes, colonialism, and ocean exploitation. New-pictorialist photography emphasizes the emotional response to the subject as much as the subject itself.

Exhibitors include Susan Derges, Takashi Arai, David George, Ian Phillips McLaren, Spencer Rowell, Joy Gregory, Céline Bodin, Tom Hunter, Angela Chalmers and David Chalmers. The techniques shown are carbon, cyanotype, photogravure, daguerreotype, gum bichromate, Lith, stereographs, salt printing, kallitype, pinhole digital and c-type prints.
